Mobility Level Access Shower Case Study | Leeds | More Ability

Published: 5 August 2022

Problem

Mrs. Brook’s Bathroom was dated and unsuitable for her needs. Her existing bathroom consisted of a bath, toilet, and basin along with several temporary adaptations.

The current bathroom had become harder to use so Mrs. Brook and her daughters set out to find a mobility solution.

Design Solution

Mrs. Brook and her daughters started to browse to see where they could get a suitable Mobility bathroom. After browsing on the internet, they were made aware of More Ability and the various works we do across Yorkshire delivering a variety of accessible and Mobility solutions.

Confident that More Ability could produce a mobility bathroom and take on board all her requirements. Mrs. Brook then decided to get in touch and booked a free design appointment.

Senior Designer Garry went out and visited Mrs. Brook and her daughters at her home to survey the dated bathroom and further discuss any requirements and potential ideas for the new bathroom look.

Open to ideas for the design of the bathroom along with a few requirements, to take on board before Garry could proceed to design Mrs. Brook’s Bathroom. She wanted a mobility bathroom to suit her needs which would mean making changes to the current design which included taking out the bath.

After gathering all the information, Mrs. Brook was happy for Garry to use his expert knowledge to design her new bathroom.

Taking into consideration Mrs. Brooks requirements and needs. Garry went through in detail all the possible design options with Mrs. Brook and her daughters.

With an early agreement on board after going through design options, ideas, and advice taken on board. Mrs. Brook was given a provisional quote of the works.

Delighted with the process so far, Mrs. Brook was invited to our Leeds Accessible Bathroom Showroom and was presented with detailed CAD design images to help her envision what her new mobility wet room shower would look like. With the help of her daughters and Garry, Mrs. Brook was able to pick her final choices, and then she placed an order with us.

Mobility Wet Room Installation

Mrs. Brooks’s bathroom was completely transformed, the once dated bathroom was replaced by a mobility wet room shower, by our multi-skilled fitter Graham.

The bath was replaced by a mobility wet floor shower, that also included an adjustable padded fold-up seat, and half-height doors, around the shower area. Several extra supports were installed in the new bathroom, from extra baskets, to grab rails.

Beige Accessible Wallboards were installed around the whole bathroom space, as they require minimal maintenance. Anti-slip vinyl flooring was fit for extra safety, matching the consistent warm beige colour scheme throughout the room.

Sleek white, modern toilet, basin, and a tall towel rail were installed as part of the bathroom design.

Outcome

A dated bathroom was completely revamped into a Mobility Wet Room, fitted with extra safety features.

What Mrs Brook Said About More Ability:

The fitter was polite, friendly, and hard-working. Thanks to Graham, Joe, and Garry for their hard work, especially Graham.
