Accessible Wet Floor Shower Room Case Study | Harrogate | More Ability

Published: 4 July 2022

Problem

Mr. Kidd’s bathroom was dated and needed a complete revamp to a more stylish and modern design but also to become a more accessible bathroom. The existing bathroom consisted of a bath with a shower overhead, a basin, and a toilet.

Design Solution

In the pursuit of renovating his bathroom, Mr. Kidd started browsing and through the help of social media, he was made aware of More ability and decided to get in touch and booked a free design appointment.

Senior Designer, Angela, came out and visited Mr. Kidd at his home and discussed his requirements, and his early ideas alongside offering her expert advice on how they could best utilise the bathroom space.

Mr. Kidd wanted to change his bathroom so it can be more accessible and be brought up to date. He had an idea of the design changes he wanted to make which was to replace the bath with an accessible wet floor shower, with modern fittings.

After gathering all of Mr. Kidd’s wants and needs. Angela then went through in detail, all the possible design options taking into consideration the fact that the bathroom also had a sloping ceiling.

With an early agreement on the best way forward, after the design, ideas, and advice were taken on board. Mr. Kidd was given a provisional quote of the works.

Happy to move on to the next stage of the process Mr. Kidd visited our Harrogate Accessible Bathroom showroom and was presented with detailed CAD design images to help him envision what his new accessible wet floor shower room would look like and with the help of Angela, he was able to pick his final choices afterward he then placed an order with us.

Accessible Wet Floor Shower Room Installation

A stunning accessible wet floor shower was installed by our multi-skilled fitter Amarjit, who fit in the various modern fixtures that were part of the design.

The bath was replaced by a wet floor shower with a glass panel flipper screen and had a Corian bench fit inside of the shower complimenting the grey pattern accessible wallboard. The rest of the wall was tiled displaying a consistent white texture feature throughout the new accessible wet floor shower room.

A Modern wall-hung basin and toilet were also installed with a beige anti-slip vinyl flooring finish as Mr. Kidd had requested for extra safety.

Outcome

A dated bathroom was revamped into a beautiful accessible wet floor shower room and fitted with modern features.
