Accessible Walk-In Shower Case Study | Leeds | More Ability

Published: 8 April 2022

Mr & Mrs Blackshaw’s small bathroom consisted of a bath and basin.

Now struggling to use the bath they hoped to install an access showering solution.

Design Solution:

Wanting to gather further information on accessible bathrooms Mr & Mrs Blackshaw visited our Leeds disabled bathroom showroom to discuss the options available and view a range of our accessible bathroom displays.

Happy with the information gathered, Mr & Mrs Blackshaw booked a free design appointment for a senior Designer to visit their home, survey their bathroom and discuss their wants and needs.

Visited by senior Designer Nigel, Mr & Mrs Blackshaw discussed the best shower designs and options available for the limited space they had available.

Happy to go ahead, Nigel created an accessible shower design and provided a provisional quote dependant to Mr & Mrs Blackshaw’s final fixtures and fittings choices.

Nigel then invited Mr & Mrs Blackshaw back to our Leeds disabled bathroom showroom to present them with a visual CAD design, helping them to envision the new look of their new shower room. He also assisted them with choosing their final fixtures and fittings.

Accessible Shower Installation:

A level access quadrant enclosed shower with an anti-slip tray and basin was installed by Multi-Skilled Fitter Ben.

The unused bath was removed and the layout of the shower room was changed to make better use of the limited space.

As Mr & Mrs Blackshaw wanted to keep their tiling low maintenance beige patterned wall boards were installed within the shower area and splashback areas.

Matching beige anti slip vinyl flooring was also installed to help to avoid any slips or falls.

Outcome:

A small and unsuitable bathroom was transformed into an accessible shower room with additional safety features.

What Mr & Mrs Blackshaw said about More Ability:
