Mobility Wet Room Case Study | Harrogate | North Yorkshire

Published: 6 January 2022

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Donaldson small and dated 3 piece en-suite consisted of an enclosed shower, basin & WC.

Wanting to give the room a design update whilst making the shower room safe and comfortable for Mr Donaldson to use they hoped to install a modern wet room.

Design Solution:

Wanting to gather further information on accessible bathrooms Mr & Mrs Donaldson booked a free design appointment for a senior Designer to visit their home, survey their bathroom and discuss their wants and needs.

Visited by senior Designer Nigel, Mr & Mrs Donaldson discussed the best shower options for their small en-suite for Mr Donaldson.

Happy with the advice gathered Nigel created a preliminary mobility wet room design and a provisional quote dependant to their final fixtures and fittings choices.

Happy to go ahead, Nigel then invited Mr & Mrs Donaldson back to our Harrogate showroom to present them with a visual CAD design helping them to envision the new look of their bespoke wet room and assisted them with choosing their final fixtures and fittings.

Mobility Wet Room Installation:

A serene wet room with built in Corian bench allowing Mr Donaldson to comfortably rest his legs whilst bathing was installed by Multi-Skilled Fitter Carl. A glass flipper was also installed to prevent water splashing around the small room.

Accessible sanitary ware included the installation of a space saving back to wall toilet and basin in a wall hung vanity unit.

Accessible bathroom storage also included the installation of a wall hung mirrored cabinet that bounced light around the en-suite creating the illusion of a more spacious room.

Modern large grey ceramic tiling was combined with grey anti slip vinyl flooring creating a contemporary finish whilst adding to the en-suite simple but timeless design.

Outcome:

A dated shower room was transformed into a modern spacious mobility wet room with contemporary fixtures and fittings and additional safety features.
