Accessible Wet Floor Shower Case Study | Leeds | West Yorkshire

Published: 20 July 2021

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Clegg’s dated 3- piece shower room consisted of an enclosed shower, basin and WC.

Starting to struggle with mobility, they hoped to install a level access shower solution whilst modernising their shower room.

Design Solution:

Following a recommendation from a friend and previous More Ability customer, Mr & Mrs Clegg booked a free design appointment for a More Ability Senior Designer to visit their home, view their existing shower room and inform and discuss accessible bathroom design solutions according to their bathroom design wants and mobility needs.

Mr & Mrs Clegg were visited by Senior Designer Garry who disused the above and provided a provisional quote dependant to their final fixtures and fittings choices.

With Mr & Mrs Clegg happy with the design and information gathered and wanting to go ahead, Garry used his bathroom knowledge and expertise to create a modern accessible wet floor shower design.

Garry then invited Mr & Mrs Clegg to our Leeds Bathroom showroom to present a detail CAD design allowing them to visualise their new shower room, whilst assisting them with choosing their final fixtures and fittings.

Accessible Wet Floor Shower Installation:

A modern and spacious accessible wet floor shower with a toughened glass flipper screen and bespoke Corian bench was installed by Multi Skilled Fitter Daniel, allowing Mr & Mrs Clegg to enter the shower without stepping over the side whilst giving them the option to rest their legs whilst bathing.

Additional Accessible sanitary ware included the installation of a semi recessed basin and back to wall WC with soft close seat, helping to avoid any trapped fingers, in a run of fitted furniture creating space for Mr & Mrs Clegg’s to store their bathroom essentials and towels. Accessible bathroom storage also included the installation of a contemporary wall niche in the shower creating easy access bathing essentials.

Wall and floor coverings included modern light grey marble effect accessible wall boards and beige anti-slip vinyl flooring. Whilst trendy finishing touches included a grey heated towel rail and wavey chrome grab rail.

Outcome:

A small and dated shower room was transformed into a spacious accessible wet floor shower room with modern fixtures and fittings.

What Mr & Mrs Clegg said about More Ability:

What a transformation from bathroom to wet room ! First class service throughout and full attention to detail . Special mention to fitter Daniel who was brilliant, faultless workmanship, friendly as well as professional.

Thank you all and will certainly recommend the company wholeheartedly.
