Mobility Wet Room Shower Case Study | Bradford | West Yorkshire

Problem:
Mr & Mrs Hodgson’s dated Three piece suite consisted of a bath with overhead shower, basin and WC. With Mr Hodgson unfortunately suffering with arthritis and struggling to use the bath, they required a safer bathing solution that they could both comfortably use.
Solution:
Upon booking a free design appointment online, Mr & Mrs Hodgson were visited in their home by More Ability Senior Designer Garry, to further discuss their bathing wants and needs which created an environment for Garry to understand and provide advice on the best possible solution.
With Mr Hodgson struggling to use the bath, Garry converted the existing space into a mobility wet room shower concept that consisted low maintenance and easy to clean fixtures and fittings and additional safety features.
Garry then presented Mr & Mrs Hodgson with the detailed wet room CAD design and invited them to visit our Leeds disabled bathroom showroom to finalise their sanitary ware choices and design finishing touches.
The wet room’s accessible sanitary ware consisted of a height adjustable slide rail shower, fixed cushioned shower seat to provide Mr Hodgson with additional bathing support and a comfort raised height toilet and large pedestal basin.
The previous bath was removed to create additional space for Mr Hodgson to comfortably move around the wet room whilst grab rails were installed to provide additional support.
Finishing touches included low maintenance accessible wall boards in a contemporary grey patterned design and anti-slip vinyl flooring to help to avoid any slips or falls.
A contemporary heated towel rail was also installed to help keep the suite comfortably warm.
Outcome:
Mr & Mrs Hodgson’s dated bathroom was transformed into a contemporary mobility wet room with additional safety features.
Their new future proofed suite allowed both Mr & Mrs Hodgson to bathe comfortably whilst allowed Mr Hodgson to continue independently bathe on his own.
