Mobility Wet Room Case Study| Huddersfield | West Yorkshire

Published: 28 July 2020

Bathing Problem:

Mr & Mrs Pixowarski’s dated three piece en-suite consisted of a back to wall WC, vanity basin unit and an enclosed accessible wet floor shower with foldable seat.

Following an accident, which unfortunately resulted in long term issues with mobility, they hoped to further enhance their shower room safety with a more modern adaptation while future proofing the renovation with a design that was flexible to any potential deterioration.

Bathing Solution:

Upon booking a free design appointment online, Mr & Mrs Pixowarski were visited at home by More Ability Senior Designer Garry. Learning more about their bathing requirements while discussing their wants and needs and measuring the existing space Garry was able to design a modern mobility wet room that was both stylish, maintenance free and safe to use.

Following their home visit, and with the assistance of Garry, Mr & Mrs Pixowarski visited our disabled bathroom showroom in Leeds to select new sanitary ware and finalise their accessible bathroom design.

Their new spacious mobility wet room included grab rails and a fixed shower seat to provide additional safety and support. Additional floor space was created by installing a back to wall wash and dry toilet, a wall hung basin cabinet, savvy wall niche storage and by relocating the toilet to the same wall as the basin to make better use of the unused available space.

Further finishing touches consisted of the installation of anti-slip vinyl flooring and patterned wall boards. Alongside an illuminated mirror and modern spotlights to help to brighten up the space.

Installation Outcome:

Mr & Mrs Pixowarski’s once dated and impractical en-suite was transformed into a modern and spacious mobility wet room that they can both can safely and independently enjoy.

Creating space the stylish adaptation consisted of easy use fixtures and fittings and low maintenance finishing touches, future proofing their suite against any further deterioration.

What Mr & Mrs Pixowarski said about More Ability:

It's good and really nice!
