Accessible Wet Floor Shower Case Study | Wetherby | North Yorkshire

Bathing Problem:

Mr and Mrs Duckett had an 80’s styled four-piece bathroom suite that consisted of a matching mushroom coloured bath, shower and WC with separate vanity basin unit. Fully tiled the existing bathroom had become increasingly difficult to manage due to problems with mobility. As a result the bath was rendered useless by one of the users and with a large high step up into the elevated shower their only other bathing alternative was fast becoming equally unsafe and unmanageable.

Bathing Solution:

Initially visiting our accessible bathroom showroom in Harrogate as a result of a recommendation Mr Duckett was impressed with the stylish and accessible bathroom solutions we had on display and as a result booked a free design appointment with Senior Designer, Andy.

Following the showroom visit, and although a better understanding of what solutions were available to them was gained, both Mr and Mrs Duckett were still unsure of what would work best for them and their present and future needs. Fully open to design ideas and fixture choices, the only two requirements from the clients is that it not look too clinical and that the refurbishment allow for a safe and independent bathing experience.

Installation Outcome:

Working closely with Mr Duckett with regards to final choices and finishing touches Andy created an accessible wet floor shower concept that was safe, stylish and modern. Featuring a bespoke built corian bench in the shower area for sit down use a run of fitted furniture was also incorporated to house the semi-recessed WC and basin and provide ample amounts of storage. Concealing all pipework the tidy and maintenance free finish lent itself to clean and minimalistic design which was further complimented by the neutral colour choices that were applied across the flooring and wall coverings.
