Accessible Walk-In Shower Case Study | Harrogate | North Yorkshire

Published: 28 March 2019

Bathing Problem:

Mr & Mrs Anderton had an existing long and thin bathroom that consisted of two runs of fitted furniture down either side of the room which housed a semi-recessed WC and basin. Featuring an enclosed bath with overhead shower at the far end, the existing space was in need of an accessibility update due to increased difficulties getting in and out of the bath.

Bathing Solution:

Wanting to tackle preliminary accessibility and usability problems with the bath in the first instance, More Ability Survey and Designer, Andy, visited the property to discuss the works in more detail. Posing a future proofed design, Andy suggested incorporating a level access bath replacement walk-in shower tray into the renovation which would facilitate stylish, safe and accessible bathing.

Installation Outcome:

Deciding that the best way forward would be to refurbish the entire suite, converting it from a bathroom to a shower room for accessibility, Andy created a design that was in keeping with the existing theme but featured modern fixtures and fittings.

A consistent colour scheme, the newly renovated suite featured a level access bath replacement walk-in shower tray with corian bench, two runs of semi recessed fitted furniture and was fully wall boarded in a light calacatta marble for a striking and crisp finish.

what mr & mrs anderton said about More Ability:

“Steve, our lead fitter, was very skilful and committed, working all weekend to catch up on the delayed start. Both fitters were very polite, cheerful and excellent workers.”
