Accessible Wet Floor Shower Case Study | Leeds | West Yorkshire

Published: 4 November 2015

Problem:

An existing customer of ours, Mr & Mrs Haigh had recently moved into a new property and required a bath to shower room conversion, inclusive of adaptation works, to allow for Mr Haigh to bathe safely and with ease.

A number of years since the last project meant an array of product developments and the couple wanted to understand the features, advantages and benefits of all the shower solutions and additional fixtures now available to them before making a final decision on what was the best way forward in meeting their wants and needs.

Solution:

Having done works previous we sent the same surveyor who had helped and advised on the initial project as he had clearly done a great job the fact they were adamant we were doing the second lot of works. Personable bathroom surveyor and designer, Nigel Dawson, met the couple at the new property to discuss all things easy access showers. They were also keen to understand the benefits of raised height sanitary ware and options for wall coverings.

Nigel presented all options and talked through any questions they had, managing to narrow down the list of options. From here the couple were invited back to the showroom to look at fully working suites and make a final decision, that being a stylish wet floor shower solution with corian bench and enclosed with a glass flipper screen, a raised height back to wall toilet and a large vanity basin. The floor was covered in slip resistant vinyl with fully tiled shower area and half tiled surrounding walls – a wall mounted towel radiator was also installed.

Outcome:

The finished stylish & accessible shower room was a not only modern and aspirational but also safe and practical in meeting the couple’s requirements. The wet floor shower, raised height toilet and vanity basin was an outstanding transformation on the existing bathroom suite made even more spacious and accessible with the re-location of the key fixtures.

what mr & mrs haigh said about more ability:

“Outstanding work from Ben - our fitter who did the bulk of the work in our bathroom.I would also like to thank Lee, the electrician, and Ryan, the floorer. All in all a great job well done by everyone involved.”
