Mobility Wet Room | Leeds | More Ability
Published: 20 October 2025
Background
Mr & Mrs Cripwell had recently purchased a lovely bungalow in Leeds which came with a beautifully designed en-suite shower room. While stylish, the shower cubicle layout did not suit their practical needs due to health challenges. Wanting to retain the elegance of the space while improving accessibility, they found More Ability online and visited our Leeds Showroom.
On arrival they were warmly welcomed by Showroom Consultant Tom, before being introduced to Senior Designer Garry. Garry took time to understand their situation, showing them examples of how safety features could be seamlessly integrated without compromising style.
Impressed by Garry’s approach, they arranged a design appointment where Garry would visit their home to measure up, advise on the best options, and help them start planning the transformation. Their wish list included a safer, more functional space with a comfort-height WC and additional storage, all while preserving the sophisticated feel of their new home.
Mobility Wet Room Design
Garry worked closely with the Cripwells to redesign the en-suite into a fully accessible mobility wet room. His goal was to enhance safety and convenience without compromising on style. The design featured a comfort-height WC for ease of use, alongside a wall-hung basin with an LED mirror and a mirrored cabinet to maximise storage. A chrome towel radiator and chrome grab bars were incorporated to provide warmth, stability and practicality.

The room was fully tiled in large-format dark grey tiles which were complemented by a light grey anti-slip vinyl floor, creating a modern and secure finish. To help keep water within the wet area while maintaining an open, airy feel, a glass screen with an extended flipper panel was installed. As the room was of standard size, clever spatial planning was required. Wall-hung fixtures and multiple mirrored surfaces were used to maximise light and space, resulting in an uncluttered and contemporary look.

Mobility Wet Room Installation
Once the plans were agreed, Installations Surveyor Joe completed a detailed site survey to prepare for the transformation. Multi-Skilled Fitter Dean then carried out the work, ensuring the installation was completed with minimal disruption to the Cripwells’ daily routine. Thanks to the skill and efficiency of the team, the project was completed smoothly, and the new wet room was ready to use in just a few days.

The Finished Wet Room
The final result was a modern, accessible, and stylish mobility wet room that perfectly met the couple’s needs. The combination of dark grey tiling, chrome accents and thoughtful lighting created a sophisticated environment, while the practical safety features ensured long-term usability. The Cripwells were delighted with the transformation, commenting on both the safety improvements and the professional service they received from the More Ability team.

Customer 5* TrustPilot Review
After the project was completed, Mr & Mrs Cripwell kindly shared their experience on TrustPilot, highlighting both the quality of the design and the professionalism of the team from start to finish.
“We were looking to turn our en-suite shower room into a wet room to make things easier for my husband who has Parkinson's Disease. We both wanted to avoid the wet room looking like a hospital/care home facility.
On our first visit to Passmore's Leeds Showroom, we were introduced to Garry who showed us around and arranged a date to visit our bungalow to discuss, measure up and advise with suggestions on how to get the best safety aids we required whilst also achieving the desired look - and importantly, working within our budget. Following a survey and more consultations within our home, a date was set for work to commence.
The transformation was completed within 3 days and the team of two worked well, keeping any disruption to a minimum as well as limiting the inevitable dust/dirt - and this we really appreciated. We were kept informed with paperwork outlining the job from the word go right up to the work finishing.
We are very happy with our new wet room - it's a much safer facility for my husband to use and it looks so good too. Thank you to all the team at Passmore, especially Garry, Joe, Dean and Ryan. I highly recommend this company.”

Project Outcome:
This project is a clear example of how More Ability can transform an existing bathroom into a safe, practical, and beautiful wet room without compromising on style. By listening carefully to the Cripwells’ needs and applying thoughtful design, expert project management, and skilled installation, the team created a space that not only enhanced safety but also complemented their home perfectly.
