Mobility Wet Room Case Study | Sheffield | South Yorkshire

Published: 10 May 2021

Problem:

Mr Moxon’s small 4-piece bathroom consisted of a bath with built in shower, Basin and WC.

Now struggling to use the bath, Mr Moxon hoped to install a safer bathing solution whilst fixing the issues he was having with his shower leaking.

Design solution:

Upon calling to book a free design appointment, Mr Moxon discussed on the phone with Marketing Manager Rebecca the mobility bathroom options available that would both assist with his mobility and help to prevent any future leaking issues.

Happy to go ahead, Mr Moxon arranged with Rebecca for a More Ability Senior Designer to visit his home to view his bathroom, discuss his bathroom wants and needs and provide a provisional quote dependant to his final fixture and fittings choices.

Mr Moxon was then visited by Senior Designer Garry, who discussed with him his design wants and mobility needs. Garry then used his extensive bathroom knowledge and expertise to create a safe and stylish mobility wet room design.

Garry invited Mr Moxon to our Leeds accessible bathroom showroom to present a detailed CAD design allowing him to visualise his new shower room and assisted Mr Moxon with choosing his final fixtures and fittings.

Mobility wet room installation:

A spacious wet room shower with glass flipper screen and foldable fixed shower seat was installed by multi-skilled fitter Sam, giving Mr Moxon the option to rest his legs whilst bathing.

Modern Accessible sanitary ware included the installation of a semi recessed basin and back to wall WC in a run of fitted furniture, creating additional storage for Mr Moxon to store his bathroom amenities.

Low maintenance floor and wall coverings included accessible wall boards waterproofing the entire room, helping to prevent any further water leaks alongside anti-slip vinyl flooring to help to prevent any slips or falls.

A modern chrome accessible brassware grab rail was also installed to help to assist with Mr Moxon’s mobility, whilst adding to the overall design.

Outcome:

A small unpractical bathroom was transformed into a safe and spacious wet room with additional safety features.

What Mr Moxon said about More Ability:

The bathroom installation was carried professionally from the planning to the final completion, I have to commend Sam the bathroom fitter nothing was too much trouble.
