Mobility Wet Room Case Study | Leeds | West Yorkshire

Published: 4 October 2016

Problem:

Mrs Wyatt enquired early 2016 whilst in the process of completing a house move where she was wishing to make the existing bathroom suite a safe and accessible shower solution as a result of no longer being able to get in and out of the bath. Unfortunately the initial move did not go to plan however as a result of receiving excellent service, help and care during the survey and design process she came back to us mid 2016 once a secondary property had been secured.

Solution:

Following the same protocol, More Ability Surveyor & Designer, Paul Tarbard, revisited Mrs Wyatt at her new home where they examined the existing bathroom together. Having seen the original CAD designs for the first property the solution of a Wet Floor Shower and the design specifications of such had already been agreed however the layout of the adaptation may change in order to facilitate the new surroundings.

Trusting Paul with this following verbal suggestions of how the wet floor would work in the new bathroom Mrs Wyatt saw no need to visually see another re-tweaked CAD design as the key fundamentals were to remain the same.

Outcome:

Functional in use yet stylish in appeal the provided safe and practical wet floor achieved the main project aims of accessibility, safety and ease of manoverability. Key finishing touches made the dark (a consequence of having no natural light) wet room a light and bright modern masterpiece with the introduction of a glass flipper screen, enclosing the shower area and sparkle wall boards to the four enclosing walls to help bounce man made light around the now, spacious room. Furthermore Paul suggested incorporating a seat in the shower area for extra safety and stability while showering, if not for now but for the future, making this a long lasting and time with standing adaptation.

what mrs wyatt said about more ability:

“Excellent service

Despite having changed the original property we received excellent service from very helpful staff. The standard of work was exactly what we expected and of very high quality. Was able to leave the workman on his own for several days - would definitely recommend More Ability as efficient and good value.”
