Mobility Wet Room Case Study | Rotherham | South Yorkshire

Published: 2 February 2016

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Spark had an L shaped 3 piece bathroom suite consisting of a bath with over shower mixer, pedestal basin and close coupled toilet. A combination of wall paper, wall boards, tiles, carpet and wooden panelling was used in the original design of the suite that had unfortunately run the test of time. Aside from requiring a little TLC the bath had also become a problem area which led the couple to wanting to explore easy-access bathing solutions within the overall renovation works.

Solution:

More Ability surveyor & designer Garry Kirkbright took the couples wants and needs on board when proposing his solution to their problem. Following an in depth discussion at the survey meeting Garry proposed a complete shake up in terms of fixture location to make the most of the available space. Garry suggested ripping everything out the old suite and installing a wet floor shower where the WC once was (overcoming all present and future bathing problems). Furthermore Garry also incorporated a large basin & WC vanity unit which would also offer ample storage space.

Outcome:

The finished safe and practical wet floor shower suite was a credit to Garry’s design skills and the couple’s personal aspirations. A once poorly laid out and troublesome suite had been transformed into a spacious wet floor shower room solution that would truly stand the test of time in terms of design and personal requirements.

what mr & mrs spark said about more ability:

Very pleased with the work. Sam did a very good job and has provided us with the shower room we wanted. When I reported difficulties with the heating Sam responded very well to our needs even though he was not well himself.”
