Mobility Wet Room Case Study | Doncaster | South Yorkshire

Published: 23 February 2016

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Partridge had a relatively large traditionally styled 4-piece bathroom suite consisting of a bath with overhead shower mixer, bidet toilet and separate WC and pedestal basin. The existing suite was an off white / cream colour with gold trim which, in a fully gloss white tiled room, was consistent in both look and feel.

Although the suite was becoming slightly outdated in terms of design, the underlying reason for the works was to make bathing a safe and enjoyable experience following issues with mobility. The bath in particular had become a troublesome area which we sought to provide a solution for.

Solution:

Paul Tarbard, More Ability Surveyor & Designer, worked with the couple to determine what solution would best counter their issues with mobility, both present and any future requirements as a result of possible deterioration.

Paul also wanted to make it a priority that as well as the solution solving the underlying problem it was would so in a stylish and design-led manner that complimented the couple’s personal wants, needs and aspirational desires.

Outcome:

The finished renovation works resulted in an inspirationally designed, bath to wet floor shower conversion that not only looked great but solved present and future mobility issues. The new wet floor shower room was safe and practical in function but stylish and accessible in appeal.

Helped along with the full textured tiling to all four walls, new wall hung basin and back-to-wall closed couple WC. Glass fronted storage unit and enclosed shower flipper screen, with chrome trim to finish off, it was safe to say the couple couldn’t believe the transformation and were thrilled with the completed works.

what mr & mrs partridge said about more ability:

“To all the team at More Ability & Passmore's. We LOVE our new bathroom and would like to thank everyone for all their hard work - a great job, thanks again!”
