Mr & Mrs Mankin, Pudsey, Leeds, West Yorkshire - A stylish and minimalistically modern wet floor shower solution

9 February 2016

Problem:

Mr & Mrs Mankin had a small and dated 3 piece bathroom suite consisting of a WC, pedestal basin and bath with over shower mixer. The Champagne / Indian Ivory coloured suite was the height of fashion in the 80’s making it decade identifiable as a result of the shell pattern finishing to the WC cistern and pedestal basin.

Aside from updating the existing suite Mr & Mrs Mankin wanted to make there bathing experience easier to manage and more accessible as they envisaged a future proofed solution which would tend to their wants and needs for many years to come.

Solution:

More Ability Surveyor & Designer, Paul Tarbard, worked with Mr & Mrs Mankin to create a bathroom refurbishment that would meet their needs and personal aspirations. Paul proposed completely stripping out the existing suite and reinstalling a stylish wet floor shower solution coupled with a new back-to-wall WC and large vanity basin unit.

Paul’s bath to shower room conversion was proposed as a result of a desirable outcome being that of ease of use and accessibility. Although the couple managed sufficiently with the existing fixtures, Paul wanted to address any future needs which may arise resulting in the bath becoming a troublesome area.

Outcome:

Paul's careful planning and considerations to present and future needs resulted in a stylish wet floor shower solution, which could easily and cheaply be adapted in the future if required. Further enhancing the ‘stylish’ element Paul incorporated a glass flipper screen, designed to semi enclose the shower area, and chrome fixtures and fittings. The new shower room was minimalistically modern in both look and feel further enhanced by the beige tiled floor and wall coverings which really opened up the room providing a sense of space and elegancy.
